"Whirpool - Ice Magic" Refrigerator

Refrigerator is an essential part of our lives, it's presence in a house has become so common that it is mostly ignored. However it plays a very important role in our daily lives and hence I took great care in selecting my latest refrigerator. My old refrigerated started malfunctioning, after giving me a very good service for over 10 years.

However being a old model from a local manufacturer call 'Godrej", it lacked many of the good feature of newer models as well as had a high electricity consumption and was quite noisy.

I researched for my new refrigerator with 2 basic criterion in my mind. One, it must be energy efficient, CFC free and the manufacturer must have a responsive service setup. After looking at various makes and models I zeroed in on "Whirpool - Ice Magic" refrigerator.

It does not use CFC, is extremely silent and has a unique feature of heat dissipation from it's sides. This large heat dissipation area make it more energy efficient. Inside it has a special air circulation fan which help to cool the interior evenly and eliminates wet surfaces and excess ice formation. Since my freezer needs are not very large, I chose a top freezer model.

I also feel that since cold air is heavy, a top freezer model will have better cooling through natural circulation of cold air. It has ample storage space for bottles and adjustable shelves for accommodating different sizes and shapes of containers. It produces very low vibrations and noise.

This is a big relief over my old refrigerator which used shake like a dry leaf in a storm and make noise equivalent to rumbling of clouds in a rainy season. For past three years since I have my Whirpool, I did not face a single problem except for a blown fuse once.

Even then the response from dealer's service center was fast and I got the problems solved in an hour. I also got friendly instructions for replacing the fuse myself in future which is really quite easy.

My current Whirlpool refrigerator is better than my old one in every way, except that my old one had a long emotional bond with me which saddened me a bit when I decided to make the new purchase.
