KitchenAid KFIS27CXMS Architect Series II Refrigerator - A horrible Design flaw

by Susan

Just got the KitchenAid KFIS27CXMS Architect Series II Refrigerator. Just came out on the market.

It is a french door and it was designed so the left door doesn't stay open. If you need to take something out of it you need to have someone else hold it or it keep banging you in the back. This is a horrible flaw and kitchenaid should look to fixit.

I hate it NEW

Left door doesn't stay open...very stupid. Ice maker is slow and ice gets stuck when coming out sometimes, noisy, very hard to keep freezer organized. Don't do it!!!

Ice Clumps Up
by: Anonymous

The ice clumps up in the ice holder/container. I have called into KitchenAide now 4 times. They keep sending repair service to my house and each one comes up with a different solution after calling into KitchenAide's techline. Go Figure!! I have come to absolutely hate this refrigerator. We can be sitting at the dinner table and ice falls out on the floor. When you get ice, water comes out of the ice dispenser.
Repairs done:
1. KitchenAide says that hot air comes into the ice bucket when you open the door. My resonse is put a flap door on that opening. Does not take an Engineering expert to figure that one out.
2. Program the module in the door to match the refrigerator model. Hmmmm why did the factor not do that or the installer?
3. Replace the flapper in the door. This was a solution for two different times.
I say...but it at your own risk!!!

Kitchenaid NOT a good design
by: Anonymous

In addition to the left door not staying open, which is very annoying, the right door does not have a tight, positive feel on the close. I keep thinking, when I close the left door, that the right door will pop open and stay that way. I hate it when every time I open the door I have to push against the right to make sure it's shut.
I would definitely look to other brands and models.
