Kitchenaid French Door Refrigerator "What Happened To Quality?"

by Jim Witt
(San Dimas, Calif)

As a youngster I remember only of few of my friends had Kitchen Aid appliances in their homes. That is because they were considered upper-end and too expensive for the average household.

They were remarkably reliable and the name Kitchen Aid meant quality. Times have changed. Kitchen Aid lost sight of the quality and dependability part of their reputation. Good news though, they are still one of the most expensive products at the consumer level.

Yes I have a complaint. I purchased a Kitchen Aid French door style high capacity refrigerator at Sears. The day after delivery it began leaking water internally and spilling out onto the floor. The service man recommended I exchange it for a new one.

The replacement lasted two weeks before leaking from beneath the refrigerator and the temperature is not stable. I will be returning it as well. Sadly I also bought a Kitchen Aid microwave / vent fan and a gas range. I will not get another Kitchen Aid product as they clearly don't stand for the high level of quality they once did.
